About Queen's Tower Exchange

Queen's Tower Exchange (QTE) is a closed exchange that lets Imperial College London students compete on a continuous, realistic simulation of the financial markets. Live L2 order book data is widened and delayed so student market makers can quote, market takers can hunt alpha, and FPGA teams can sharpen their hardware against a moving target.

Our Mission

Queen's Tower Exchange is a closed exchange that lets Imperial College London students cultivate the talent normally only built inside professional trading firms. By streaming real L2 order book data, widening the spread, and adding a small artificial latency, we put 31 student teams head to head on a continuous, realistic simulation of the markets without forcing them to compete with full-stack quant firms on day one.

What We Do

  • 01 Real market mechanics Live order book data, an honest matching engine, trade-based fills against the live market, and the same fast-or-be-arbitraged dynamic that drives professional desks.
  • 02 Seven arms, one exchange Market Making, Market Taking, Options, Fundamentals, Execution, FPGA, and Technology. Pick the seat that matches how you want to compete.
  • 03 An incubator for talent QTE exists to differentiate the students who will thrive in live markets and to grow that talent in a place where the cost of getting it wrong is a leaderboard, not a redundancy.
  • 04 Built for what's next The FPGA Arm is laying the groundwork to move parts of the exchange onto physical hardware on-site within the next three to four years.
