Introduction to QTE Blogs!

Welcome to Queen’s Tower Exchange (QTE) Blogs! This is the beginning of a series of blogs to provide a comprehensive introduction to those eager in learning more about QTE. We consist of a few members working together to introduce and elucidate the exchange. In the next coming blogs, we will dive into the mechanics of the exchange, inner workings of each arm and much more.

Here at our exchange for buyers and sellers, we aim to simulate trading in the real world as closely as possible. We achieve this by adjusting live order book data such that student teams can compete against each other on the same level but still run into the same challenges real-world traders tackle. An almost complete financial ecosystem is formed through the 8 arms of QTE such that students participating will be able to prepare for working at a professional firm. Amazing, right?

Now, a brief introduction to our team along with a fun fact about each of us:

• Nadine: I am currently in Year 2 Materials! A fun fact about me is that cooking has become my favourite pastime.
• Michelle: I am in Year 3 Computing. I don’t drink coffee, but I love matcha latte.
• Kaito: I am a Year 3 Maths student who loves morning gym sessions.
• Amanda: I'm currently doing Year 1 Physics. A fun fact about me is that I’ve started playing badminton as a hobby during exams.
• Charlie: I am a Year 3 Physics student and I love travelling and exploring new places.
